News | Witness appeal after attempted assault in Ashford High Street

Police officers investigating a report of an attempted assault in Ashford are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

It was reported that between 7.20pm and 7.40pm on 19th July, a disturbance took place in a takeaway restaurant in Ashford High Street. During the incident a member of staff was reportedly threatened by a person holding a knife.

A 15-year-old boy from Ashford was arrested on 28th July in connection with the incident. He was released pending further enquiries.

Investigating officer PC William Dixon said: ‘We thank the witnesses who have already come forward. We understand the restaurant was busy that evening and would appeal to anyone who has information about the incident and not yet spoken to police, to contact Kent Police on 01843 222289 quoting ZY/032859/17.'
